There are plenty of unexplored islands. Granted, all of them are known and are (usually) owned by some country. But not all of these islands have been completely investigated by biologists for new life forms.

well, there are areas of Africa that are completely untouched. in the south there are vast parks that were fenced and no one was allowed in, and since no one was ever there it may have been hundreds or thousands of years since the last person was there. they are beginning to explore it now and are finding allot of new species.

Why don't we just dig where their homes are? I mean we go in there with a couple of digging machines (bulletproofed, of course) and just dig a REALLY big hole where the people are.

2. I think I remember reading this. He said the people of Europe should be non-violent. But he eventually had to come to terms with the fact that people dont have the kind of moral courage to successfully be nonviolent. So if you have three options which are

1. Non violent, non compliant
2. Violent, Non compliant
3. Non violent, compliant

Even gandhi recognized that 2 is better than 3, if the people arent morally/spiritually capable of 1. What he feared was people would become nonviolent and would go along and enable the nazis. Versus Gandhi put himself in positions where he was nonviolent, but he would have to be killed to enable the british.

Gandhi was ahead of his time but not very impressive by today's standards.

Remember that back then almost everybody was a horrible racist, sexist etc. so you can not condemn Gandhi of just being a little better than most of his contempraries.

And Gandhi openly supported the British in their fight against Hitler which made him very unpopular among many Indians.

I think he made use of the position he gained but that he wasn't an opportunist from the beginning.
