What studies concluded that if dinosaurs had survived their mass extinction, they'd have evolved into humanoid shapes and looked like reptilians?

Star Trek: Voyager.

That is to say, none.

they did evolve intelligence.. and they left right before the Giant Meteor hit.

Most flying reptiles were able to survive the Big Bang as they were the only ones that could fly out of Earth's atmosphere into safety while those dinosaurs on land perished

What the shit is going on in this thread?
Dinosaurs have survived the mass extinction, and are flourishing
We see them around us every day

I think that was the backstory of that Star Trek: Voyager episode.

Anyway, ridiculous assumptions about evolution aside, some are highly intelligent. The Cretaceous lizards evolved into very clever little animals. Mine seems to understand that the rheostat somehow controls "the sun" in his tank, he responds to his name (and not other words/calls), and he's clever enough to associate colors with prey items. He knows that the black target means he's getting bugs, but the red/white striped target means pinkie mice as he gets FAR more excited about the red target and seems to run towards his favorite rock to scrape the mouse to break its neck. He doesn't do this for the black.

That's not exactly city-building and poetry-writing intelligence but it's impressive to me.

None, I'd hope.

Nope
You do however seem to have a relative of the great marine reptiles known as mosasaur

I put "dinosaur" in quotes for a reason. I'm well aware that he's a Cretaceous lizard, which is not a true dinosaur. He is, however, an evolutionary relic that can trace his roots to some pretty fantastic predators.

Sorry bro, by the way, what exactly is it? My first guess was a monitor, which was why I mentioned mosasaurs

No worries, I'm also a stickler for accuracy, especially when it comes to evolutionary classification.

He's a V. acanthurus acanthurus (red subspecies) monitor lizard. He's small but very intelligent, active, and intimidating. When he's playing, he's downright retarded. When he's in "hunting mode" he's like a small komodo dragon.
Part of why I got him was because I wanted a reptile with a "proud" evolutionary lineage. His genus is fucking fascinating and he's a real joy to keep.

If anyone is interested in keeping a monitor, V. acanthurus is one of the best places to start. They're interesting, show all of the bigger monitor behaviors, and are slightly more reasonable to keep. They still eat like beasts and require large stores of frozen mice and a breeding colony of roaches to properly feed.

Damn, I guess I'll have to put in a drip and climbing branches for him. I'll also have to stop handling him for fear of stressing him to death.
He must have a defective tongue because that little thing certainly isn't shooting out to catch any prey.

In all seriousness though, these guys are just pure win. It's a totally different "level" of reptile. Other lizards like blue tongued skinks, beardies, leopard geckos, crested geckos, etc. are cool in their own ways but they just don't stand up to the pure power, intelligence, and instinct that is a monitor.

Just look at those "avian" eyes and tell me it isn't watching me just as I watch it. (I know that's unscientific, but still)
