I have a 2.5 GPA from high school. Regardless, like many others, I'm quite capable of academic success. I'm enrolling in community college soon, without any cost to me due to my impoverished living arrangements.

If I obtain a 3.5 GPA, plus stay poor, do you think I could continue receiving grants and scholarships to fund me going to school for an undergraduate and graduate degree? (PharmD)

I have no living family or guardians to invest a single dime to my education.

I know the requirements are strenuous. I'm panicking already.
Heres what I'll have when its time to apply
100 hours hospital volunteer experience
animal shelter volunteer experience
varoius work experience
certification and experience as a pharmacy technician
And of course all of the things they require.

also, I have volunteer firefighter experience already and may pursue EMT certification once i check the state's requirements

3.5 isn't low. That poster is an obvious troll. Also make sure the pharm schools you are interested in take CC credits before you go full retard and spend all 4 years at a CC

You would be much better off transferring to a university and doing your pre-pharmacy stuff there. I suppose you might be able to get into a decent pharmacy school if you got a 4.0 at a community college and aced your PCAT, but chances are you'd be handicapped compared to people who took higher level science classes at a regular college and had good GPA's and PCAT scores as well.

Just remember that pharmacy is considered one of the more competitive programs at a regular college. You're going to want to give yourself any advantage you can.

College is easier than high school, so it's entirely possible.

I graduated with a 1.997 from high school. Went to college thinking I could change. Failed. Joined the Marines. Came back after four years. All A's.

No... I can say with my experiences. The only easier college classes are the English classes. It has happened that people rapidly improve in college but don't count on it.

I had a 2.7 GPA in high school. Went to college and got a 3.5 the first semester, then a 4.0. Continued that streak the rest of college.

And yes, I went to a good university.

So... go fuck yourself

You can do it, OP.

OP here. I'm also black. I'm hoping that increases my chances. Since I'm in NC, UNC would be fantastic, though I've heard horror stories of how difficult the studies are. Its the 2nd best pharmacy school in the US from what I've heard.

Why? I'm going to be giving back 28% of my income in taxes when I get that sweet Pharmacist pay. Plus, I'll be dispensing the Oxycontin to your buddies, and you a little blue pill to keep the misses happy.
