I want to get synaesthesia. I hear overdosing on psychedelics may cause it, what other possibilities do I have available to me?

Why do you want "sinaesthesia"?

>> No.3369735

You don't have to OD on them. Any moderate dose of LSD works fine. And for the love of god, be with someone sober.

>> No.3369752

I'm looking for permanent sober synaesthesia though.

Op here:
My comp sci teacher was hit with a baseball to the head when he was a child. It caused his right eye to go blind. However that eye now sees music. Head trauma is not where I want to go with this though.

certain types of meditation can retrain your brain so that you can experience synaesthesia. But be aware that this is a gradual process and may take years to reach any full-on effects. Which is actually a good thing as it teaches you to live with the synaesthesia without behaving in a way that others might find weird.

Actually, no. Anyone who experiences synaesthesia will not likely report enjoying it unless it's limited to one spectrum, like the (oddly suspiciously) coach who suffered a blow from a baseball and can see music. It's very easy to make up examples out of people that aren't you.

Synaesthesia is frightening in full form. If you're outside and the air suddenly goes still, your mouth tastes funny and you can't be sure if your heart is beating or not. Touch/feel glitching is very disturbing. You smell the difference in temperature from one room to another, and rooms that are solid color sound different. It's not pleasant. You do not want permanent synaesthesia. Temporarily, like on LSD, it's okay, but not great. You don't choose which senses cross where. It's often the case you're stuck for a moment in bad crossings.

oh, i didn't realise/was too ignorant to find out that syneasthesia could take bad forms like that.

When i hear music i see colours, when i read words/numbers i see colours. Granted it's probably minimal synaesthesia but it's all good.
