What's the least populated/competitive science heavy major or career path out there, that isn't complete shit. I'm looking for the best underdog major.

Are you a femanon looking to become an engineer?

There are some narrow subfields of biology that basicly is made up of a handful of active researchers in the whole world. They'd love to have you.

I think physics would be good for you. Physics already is a very small major at most universities, which makes learning easier, more competitive, and allows you to easily interact with professors. As you move up to grad school, your chosen specialty will place you in an even smaller subfield of physics, becoming more competitive, and even more specialized. If there was any underdog major, it would be physics.

Funny, over here in Britain it's £27k starting, which is approximately 43k of your American dollars. For half the effort. And numerous opportunities for advancement.

Problem, physfags?

competitive = lots of smart, motivated people.

the answer is probably environmental/marine/horticultural/agricultural sciences and (YES) mechanical engineering.

ME is the frat boy science. its full of slackers and wasters who are simply doing ME because they want a high paying job with a simple undergraduate degree.

if YOU are competitive.... which means walking up to the professor and asking about undergraduate research...

it means taking every opportunity available to you and working hard as hell to get good grades....

any of these fields will suit someone with the proper motivation.

May I point out that without physics, there would be no computers?
Physics is responsible for transistors, all electronic components, GPS, etc.
Physics is more useful than biology by a lot

>> No.3369224

It's a shame that most of the people in ME don't take it seriously.

If anyone ever wondered about any physical phenomenon, taking ME courses is the way to go. One classical mechanics class doesn't really do much, and the rest of physics (for physics majors) is mostly on the atomic level.

>> No.3369232

also chemical engineering is the highest paying bachelor's degrees

>> No.3369243

>>3369213

Both fields have their own merits, some as pointless or outstanding as each other. To call biology "complete shit" is a massive fallacy in itself.

Biology cures disease, saves lives, enhances lives and has the most potential out of any of the sciences to push the human race further than it's ever gone before.
