I dunno OP, this looks pretty promising without 98% of all the usual problems with nuclear power.

Its a TEDx talk, I suggest you put 10 minutes of your life to good use.

Anyway, what do want to replace it with?
Fusion? Ha, I gave up on that one a while ago when I realized how stuffed those guys were in terms of bringing that thing online.

Burning coal puts more radiation into the atmosphere than a nuclear power plant.

It's potentially dangerous, we're living in dangerous times. The incorporation of nuclear energy in these times is stupid, as well as other times if a safer and cleaner 'resource' is used.

The aim is health, nuclear power brings fun, but some people see fun doing it correctly, naturally aiming for health and survival. There is also ' total length of time' on the table, we have to consider the future perspective - the resource we utilize today will effect the resource avail/wasted, how damaged or consumed nature is, for the future.

There are safer methods available, human power is an alternative, and turbines, solar, etc. Other methods may be found in the future, which doesn't require nuclear power now, just hard work.

>human power

wat?

Turbines and solar power (at least with its current efficiency) is not suitable for 21.st century spacefaring civilisation we want to be, much less what we want to become in the future.

Advanced nuclear is our only hope.
