Let's do science! Any of you /sci/ducks recognize these equations? Looks like a bunch of physics, maybe some differential equations to me.

I'll be posting more if I find any as I play.

Schrodinger wave equation, Heisenberg uncertainty principle, Einstein's special relativity. Those are the obvious ones for me; don't get the rest

Special relativity is <span class="math"> \displaystyle{ \gamma = \frac{1}{ \sqrt{1- \displaystyle{ \frac{v^2}{c^2} } } } [/spoiler], right?

The one below that and a little to the right also looks a bit familiar... Is that Schrodinger's?

Anyone else name some more?

this, too hard to read the rest.

On a separate note: I'm glad Valve is attracting people to science-related subjects/curriculum with their games. I find it awesome, and equally touching to the existing scientific community

Correct so far, the others are Maxwell's equations.

>>3291420
Only thing you missed was Maxwell's equations (bottom right).

I'm curious. Is that Schrodinger's cat jumping out of the box?

Now that I see them, I don't know why I didn't recognize them

Looks more like it's being pulled in to me.

probably with portals at any rate

>> No.3291517

Surprised no one has said this yet..

MOST of those equations are actually quantum mechanics.

In the middle is "Heisenberg's uncertainty principle"
very top is "Schrodinger's equation"
the bottom left is what I would say: time independent schrodinger equation for an electron or something.

then there is also maxwells equations and some relativity.

I remember this part in the game too, and I took a screenshot after laughing that I actually recognized all of the equations on there!
lol

Why didn't they do the math on the computer right ther-

>an IBM PS/2

Oh. Using a whiteboard was probably faster.

Step into the beam to power up your portal gun so it can place portals on black surfaces.
