Hey /sci/. Not posting this in /lit/ because they are all fags.

I'm going to buy 10+ books tomorrow. Help me choose them. I'm interested in Science, Economics and Sociology. But other cool books welcomed too.
Thanks for the help!

Last time I checked, 'Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science' was a cool book for Economics.

What kind of a moron decides to buy 10+ books without knowing which books he's going to buy? Did you get a gift certificate or is this just some random decision?

I'm almost tempted to mock you for paying for books, but it actually is nice to have a real book in front of you than a screen.

Anyway, the sticky pointed to https://sites.google.com/site/scienceandmathguide/

Check out the books section there, specifically bib.tiera.ru/static. You can check the books before you buy them.

OP, I have but one general suggestion to anyone who's wishing to invest into a book collection:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Books_of_the_Western_World

This collection is not "the best" but it does a very broad range of topics, from which, you might find a more focused course to follow, based on your own personal preferences.

I definitely recommend "I Am a Strange Loop" by Douglas Hofstadter.

Try Super Freakonomics. It's written to be understandable by those who haven't studied economics, but I still found it really interesting, plus it's quite funny at times, unlike the majority of economics stuff out there.

It is alot easier to read a real book rather than an ebook, especially if you want to keep flipping to the back to check answers.

Yeah, I agreed with that in my post, before you mentioned it.
