We don't know for a fact that the first humans (however you want to define that) lived in Africa, but the earliest H. sapiens specimens we've discovered have been in Africa (by a LONGSHOT), and the oldest hominids are in Africa as well. Whether you subscribe to Out of Africa or the Multiregional Hypothesis doesn't really matter - the oldest hominids and oldest Anatomically Modern Humans are in Africa. The only question is whether or not all modern humans are descended solely from that original African stock or if there was genetic input from Archaic Homo established in Asia and Europe.
