I hate this move by white. What's the best possible move by black after this?

I always have trouble opening afterwards, especially if playing a relatively skilled opponent. My best guess here is Nc6 but it provokes Bb5 by white (which I think is kind of bad), or D-d6 or F-f6 but they can lead to white's advantage and make it hard for black open up.

How is this opening called anyway?

*what is it called
and ive no idea
but yeh, i'd do knight to C6 to protect the pawn. if they take it they lose a knight. and who cares if they move their bishop out, ignore it. if they take the knight they lose a bishop, and bishop has higher movement range.

But I also gain double pawns, which are a weakness later in game

He's opening with "The Sicilian Defense"

His next moves (pretty well regardless of yours) would be adjacent pawn forward, followed by Knight for cross cover, then the bishops for double cover, followed by a castle swap with the king.

Depending on how you advance, he will move the horses forward or move out the bishops.

There are plenty of guides on how to beat the Sicilian Defense, it was used a lot by Kasperov circa 15 years ago.

Personally, I just move out my pawns, let the Knights swallow them and go tit for tat on the lesser value pieces. You can get a pretty good game going if you bring your queen into it early and force his hand to use his queen as coverage on one of the bishops or even a knight (depending on skill level of player) then run fucking RAMPANT on the board with your queen.

Check out some of the guides though, there are MANY that deal with this opening.

Nf6, if he takes the pawn then Qe7 wins it back. If not, just move your pieces out.
