Serious question now /sci/, it always bothers me and I've always wanted a credible answer. The universe 'began' one day or should I say 'life' began. Why did it begin when it did as oppose to before that time? I don't understand how it, once was not, but then became so. That may have not explained my point clearly, I understand the basics of the origination, why is something 'something' rather than nothing, that's simple to me; I just don't understand why nothing became something, THEN, at that time, when it did. Please enlighten me with science..

Vague question is vague. Are you asking why the big bang happened when it did or why abiogenesis happened when it did?

Why the big bang, or rather, beginning of the universe, occurred when it did as oppose to, a trillion or so years (on terms of 'linear time') before.

>> No.3133230

>>3133221
That is easy: there wasn't time before the big bang. Therefore, the universe begins at the beginning of time.

Anyone else prefer homework threads over this bullshit?

>>3133230
But why did it begin, then? Why did it not begin before then? It began, 5,000 years ago. Why couldn't it have begun 1,000,000 years ago?... WHY?

>> No.3133237

>>3133221
there was no time before the big bang

Because then we wouldn't have your retard posting and too many people would be happy.

Luck
No other reason needed

Also
If there were nobody to observe there would be no "Why"

>> No.3133261

time is part of the fabric of the universe, not something the universe exist in

>> No.3133263

There was no time before the big bang, it started at t=0

There is actually speculation that the universe tacks on another dimension every so often. So there could have been "space" as we know it before t=0. That's the part that bugs me.

Also if there's even a .00000000000000001% chance of happening for eternity, there's a 100% chance it will happen. Since apparently this universe being created was possible, it HAD to happen sometime.

See. Its the same answer as to "Why is OP a faggot?" or better, "When did OP become a faggot."

The answer is: OP became a faggot when he posted, as thats the only time with which /sci/ could perceive OP being a faggot.

>> No.3133305

Anthropic Principle.

Everything is in complete agreement with your current existence. It all makes sense only because it has to - that's why the universe is as old as it is, along with everything being the way it is.

>> No.3133306

>>3133292
If OP tries to post, but his internet goes down, is he still a faggot?

>> No.3133318

>>3133306
To himself yes, to /sci/ no.

>> No.3133325

In science, the correct question is HOW, not WHY.

We can or we want explain how something is something but the " why " is not our domain.

>> No.3133333

>>3133325
Precisely. No one knows why OP is a faggot, he just is.,

It began with a giant complex of computers.
