You shouldn't

>> No.3107458

Read their research. Check to see who peer reviewed it.
If everything seems legit, then you take that particular study seriously.

Their personal convictions should not be your concern.

>> No.3107459

So you don't take Newton's discoveries seriously?

Only because I like science, doesn't mean I'm an emotionless prick.
It's fun and romantic. Deal with it.

>Their personal convictions should not be your concern.
But they also subject themselves to bullshit, magical thinking, I just can't take their studies and research seriously knowing this.

Damn straight OP.

I hope none of those fuckers ever make it into medicine.

Selfless faggots.

The beauty of evidence is that attitude or one's agenda has nothing to do with it. If this is necessary for you, you have missed the point of inquiry.

so do you,
do-not-argue
you've prayed for luck on more than one occasion

science and rationality are only effective because they are robust enough to withstand even human levels of feeble minded nonsense

>> No.3107480

So you wont take a muslim PhD in particle physics seriously.

Kill yourself OP or at least stay away from science. Humility is the first thing a scientist learns, that means no prejudices.

by not being a goddamn asshole.

Spirituality is something personal that you cannot attack. It's not like every scientist with religious beliefs is a creationist or something like that.

What's your problem? Seriously, deal with it.

no, i'm not spiritual in any sense.

This just in: SAYING YOU BELIEVE SOMETHING DOESN*T MEAN YOU DO.

You assholes are all biased by your own fairy-tales, most of you likely more than any self-respecting scientist that calls themselves Christian to avoid alienating everyone they know.

“It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.” - Albert Einstein

It's actually quite possible. I mean. A lot of science recognized by "nonreligious" scientists is often wrong. A lot of science and exploration has nothing to do with believing in god or not. As long as scientists accept the scientific approach then it's OK.
If we were to take a small glanse on the saturated fats tiasco we could see that someone neglected scientific approach and then decided to let emotions kick in. Similar is true for a lot of other debates, even global warming. If someone understands and respects scientific approach he may believe in anything, as long as his work is professional.
The whole idea of having to have atheist scientists derivas from putting trust in a person instead.

lol my biology teacher from high school last year tried to convince me that for the big bang to occur, God would need to exist - hence why he believes in God.

I'm at uni now, and am going back to my high school in a week to see some of my teachers - and i'm just going to laugh at him.
