So, let's say, on a whim, that you've been tasked with developing a 99% confidence interval to find a proportion of people, k, who knew the answer to a multiple choice question about FDR's packing of the supreme court when all you have is the interval for the people who got the answer correct (this is assuming that all people who knew the answer answered the question correctly). How would you go about it?

This is a really difficult task. It's almost like it was question six on the AP Test or something!

NICE TRY BUT YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT 48 HOURS LIKE THE REST OF US

>> No.3040995

You had to reverse engineer the formula you created in part c and then do the interval with the base statistic before you factored in the upper and lower bounds of the prior interval.

This was probably the easiest question six in years. You should feel pretty bad for not being able to do it.

Ask a bunch of people.
ask if they're 99% sure or not.
discard if they're not sure, keep if they are.
Done.

AP Stats is up there with AP World and AP U.S. as the easiest AP classes/tests.

k+(1-k)/4 = (.2673whatever,.2918whatever)
solve for k on lower end, then on upper end. theres your confidence interval.

shit was easy
