What do you think about the people that find calculus difficult?

>> No.3004557

I dont find them difficult...

...TO KILL

>> No.3004573

I just look down on them

>> No.3004599

Indifference. Unless they are having trouble with derivatives of polynomials, in which case I weep.

If A guy, I murder him.

If A girl, I abduct her. Then either sex slave, or kill them. Either way the life they knew is over. Pic related.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHH

>> No.3004620

I thought the last sections of trig where more difficult than calculus. Why is that?

>> No.3004623

I don't know, perhaps I feel slightly sorry for them? The ability to understand calculus depends mostly on innate capacities outside their control.

>> No.3004629

i suck at calculus. i failed it 3 times.

im smarter than you fagets.

>> No.3004630

>>3004623

Not true. Analytic ability can be developed through effort

>> No.3004637

It's a psychology thing. The basics of calculus or PISS EASY AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW IT.

sometime i

IMAGINE A WORLD WHERE EVERY SNGLE PERSON KNOWS AT LEAST CALCULUS 1 AND 2

IT'S SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!

*cries HARD*

about the same as I feel towards people who never developed their own kind of mathematics

nothing really

now those people that find basic algebra difficult and can't change base of a log...

I've been told ( by math professor ) that the 'average math major ' at the university level repeats the calculus series 3 times before they complete it.

meaning they may enroll in calc 1 -drop ..re-enroll later then go to calc 2 drop and re-enroll the following semester...

and that's the math major...most students just don't bother with it..

>> No.3004672

>>3004664
that's horseshit

i cant imagine any math major dropping any of the calc courses for any reason

>> No.3004678

>>3004664
either you go to a total shit tier school or thats bullshit, im a math major and dont know of any others at my school that failed or dropped even 1 level of calculus.

>> No.3004695

>>3004659

This. I admit, I wasn't a straight A math student, but nowadays I just can't imagine not being able to do that stuff. I just finished Calc II today. Hand me the final for any previous course, except maybe geometry, and I'd get a perfect score.

not trying to start a shit storm...but I find it funny that a professor tells a student some sort of statistic that might be observed by educators and 2 students who are unaware of what the findings might actually be are in total disbelief and go by what they personally have observed on their own...

1.please don't be statisticians or science is fucked
2. it might be that math majors drop if they don't get a perfect A competition for a tier 1 grad school is tough and you might need the a or possibly the a+

>> No.3004709

I remember sweating algebra in middleschool. It's all relative. I look back at what i was sweating over and i have a good laugh. But there are people twice my age who wouldn't know where to fucking start.

I don't know where you are from but in uni an "average math student" enroll with AP credits in at least calc 2, get straight As from major courses until at least the third year and should be taking at least two graduate courses per term in senior year.

math major is mostly for the kids who are interested and talented. there's just no reason for them not to do well in the one thing they major in.

>> No.3004746

I took Calc BC from a shit tier teacher back in high school.

Calc was really difficult back then. But in college shit was easymodo.
