So, any /sci/borgs interested in playing some Dungeons and Discourse?

>> No.2999790

What is the source on that pick? I have seen it and other similar works before and it now started to bother me.

It's from Dresden Codak.

Dungeons and Discourse started out as a joke that occured two times in the comic, but someone went ahead and made a real game out of it. I thought some of you might want to roll up some positivists and raid a church or something.

Off all the crap on /sci/ you decided to report this thread? Philosophy and Dresden Codak is at least semi /sci/-related, at the very least as pretentious sci-fi.

>> No.2999860

Oh well, here's the site for it if anyone's interested. Rules are still in development.

My god, I'd be able to shit out a better class system. They're just namedropping without any real clever reasoning behind it, as if someone would make a science dungeons and dragons and have "Freudians", "Darwinians" and "Einsteinsians" as separate classes.

It's open development, if you can make a better system that works gameplaywise, you're free to do so.

Same author? This page is often used as troll fodder here, because it's not how hypotheses are falsified.

Yeah. That's part of the ongoing Dark Science story arch, and that's kind of the joke, since Kimiko does actual science, and wants to apply to the board for a permit to practice as a scientist in that city it takes place in, and they're all beurocratic assholes.

I don't like it. His comics suggest a profound lack of knowledge when it comes to 'real' science and mostly contains, as >>2999946 says, namedropping. And what reputable scientist actually believes in a technological singularity?

Cheer up man, it's just a webcomic and a game. If it's not your cup of tea, no one's forcing you to read it.

Besides, even if the singularity doesn't happen, surely the technological research and innovation spurred by the pursuit of such a goal is useful regardless?
