Ever wanted to see what different nukes and such would do to cities and how it would look?

I'm working on a nuke game like this with upgrades and such, I've made the engine alright so far, Check it out over here bro's let me know what you think and suggestions are welcome

If you can implement an aerial detonation thingy that would be good, also saving custom inputs between tests.

Is the critical chance % like you'd expect in a video game? If so I'm not sure I see the point; nukes don't have a one in four chance to do double damage unless I'm grossly misinformed.

Yes, this is going to be a video game, not an extremely realistic thing, but it will still be slightly realistic, the critical chance thing is to have something else neat and interesting to upgrade when i add gameplay, and picking certain countries like for example america increases nuke damage by 20%, while russia gets a base 40% mirv crit or something like that.

And yes in the newest version i'm working on i added aerial detonation, it looks awesome, although the nuke does slightly less damage if detonated aerially, i'm not sure what kind of damage equation i should add for giving more damage at certain altitudes.

Also it looks like damage is being calculated for just hitting the ground, as much as damage done to buildings (I just tested by nuking one building with a 1 megaton bomb with lots of mirvs, then lots of buildings with the same settings. The score increase was way less than the increase in buildings destroyed.

And it would probably be good to make the ground thicker. A 10 megaton nuke has a lot of blue showing beneath.

I gotcha. I don't recall the calculations, but air-bursts can cause more damage because if you set it off at, say, elevation 1 foot a high % of the blast's power will go directly into the ground, a high % will escape upward, and only the radial power will actually damage the city. Great for bunker busting, not so much for widespread destruction. An air-burst does more above ground structural damage because although the radial power is less useful the downward blast all hits stuff.

Yes, the nukes do damage just hitting ground and no buildings, but they score multiplies harder the more buildings are hit, Using a 10 megaton on 1 building will give you far less score then a 10 megaton on 150 buildings, i made sure it was like this, because even if a nuke doesn't hit a building its doing a lot of damage, even if its not damage done to the building.

-Fixed graphical glitch of main nuke explosio happening behind the buildings, not covering them slightly
- Added aerial detonation.

OP, this is one fucking fun game!
Just hate clicking "Back to menu" button every single time and when you steer the nuke too much to the left, the "Back to menu" button disappears.

Just updated a new version, Have aerial detonation now, and no more akward ground not being high enough, also fixed a huge glitch that could have ruined everything but i figured it out and fixed it, it should look a lot better now wiht nukes covering buildings

Now i don't know what to add, Maybe anti nuke defence systems? that try to shoot the nuke down before it its, It the nuke is hit by one it auto blows up so if you're close it will still be decent.

Or i don't know..

Also should i add methods of delivery, like one that fires you off from a ground portable nuke launcher, or one that fires you from a silo and you get to control it down, or being dropped from a bomber etc?

i noticed if I detonate the nuke to high because it reaches ground level, then I can't see the Back To Menu button. Can you make it so it's always in the middle of the screen or something. Also, one time the score got cut off from the top, but I think that was due to the website shrinking the box.

Thats pretty odd and shouldn't happen, you can also press Z or X to zoom in our out to find the button, but yeah the button is just a placeholder, i'm going to change how to get back to the menu and such later.

How the planets were generated was screwed up in weird ways and there was a bug where they would sometimes spawn overlapping each other even though i added codes for them to never do that and i could never troubleshoot it, It seemed completely random, Also hit testing was extremely buggy and with the spaceship engine some people would get stuck in planets and glitch around and others wouldn't, trying to fix these problems just ran me down and a took a month long break and i finally came and released a half assed sandbox mode version of it.
