By the end of next year we will have a Super Heavy Lift rocket.

People confuse the Falcon Heavy with the Falcon X Heavy WAAAY too much.

The TLI of the Falcon Heavy is 19,000kg vs the Saturn V's 45,000kg and the Ares V's (albeit it's canceled) 60,000kg.... 19,000kg is DEFINITELY not enough to put a man on the moon, much less establish a base.

That's not to say that the X Heavy, when it comes out, won't be able to do it.
It's also not so say that SpaceX and private spaceflight won't take us to the Moon and Mars... It will, even if it's the government who is the customer (It most likely will be.).

Falcon Heavy takes 53,000 to LEO

And he can do a Lunar FLYBY in one launch and man on the moon using two Falcon heavies
