Of course, patching neurons together is not possible to do effectively yet. But if you could actually salvage the nervous system, even tiny parts from other people and have it integrate with another host you would see a paradigm shift in medicine. It would be beyond huge because it would open the door for incredible forms of surgery. Curing paralyzis sure, but it would be the first step to enable transplanting brain tissue, and that would reshape the concept of the human mind.
