Science fiction.
You're right, it's crazy.
In fact, it's even worse than that, it's nuts.
You wanna hear something really nutty? I heard of a couple guys who wanna build something called an airplane, you know you get people to go in, and fly around like birds, it's ridiculous, right? And what about breaking the sound barrier, or rockets to the moon? Atomic energy, or a mission to Mars? Science fiction, right? Look, all I'm asking is for you to just have the tiniest bit of vision. You know, to just sit back for one minute and look at the big picture. To take a chance on something that just might end up being the most profoundly impactful moment for humanity, for the history... of history.

The bubble won't burst like it is before since some companies actually did figure out how to monetize the internet (Amazon, Google). But some are valued entirely on speculation that they can be monetized (Facebook, Twitter). Just be smart about it is all. Pick a company that makes money, not one that's popular.

Ok but I will die eventually anyway so instead I will conduct scientific research to discover sectors of the economy that are undervalued and invest in them speeding up the development of the cure for cancer and other diseases, developing poor countries into prosperous 1st world countries and advancing technology, with the profits I will of course enjoy a moderate standard of living typical for an upper-middle class like a surgeon or a university professor because most of my wealth is tied up in stock anyway, yes I will be richer than other people but I don't see why the entire world's burdens should be placed on my shoulders, I will leave that wealth to charity after I die anyway.
