A question with too broad of a response, to be short, that those thoughts/emotions attributed to being human nature to have are not human nature to have, possible to have, but not mandatory. Learned about and overcame the dual natures of the human existence. Pain has many levels, when the lesser pains that normal people live through are overcome, there are greater pains to overcome which leads to freedom. Those things I have just mentioned are meant to be very vague, but at least give you a glimpse. I would have to write you a book to cover the life changing realizations that I have had every day of my life. It is seemingly an unending upward spiral.

Before i started i had observed a very scientific life style, every where i turned i could not find things in which to increase my quality of life. I was distraught not only at my own failure to do so but also by others failure to do so. I had seen many increase their life value through lies but could see that they wished it was not lies. Around this same time i began to realize fully the rate of which things changed, a mind at conflict with the universe is a mind full of pain. I then realized after a long session of pondering that the only way to not be affected is to become nothing, a body, with a mind without conflict and from there i prayed to the powers that be. I searched and i found.

quotes i love:
"To them that think themselves immortal, that dwell alway in eternity, conscious of Nuit, throned upon the chariot of the sun, there is no death that men call death."
“All ways are lawful to Innocence. Pure folly is the Key to Initiation. Silence breaks into Rapture. Be neither man nor woman, but both in one. Be silent, Babe in the Egg of Blue, that thou mayest grow to bear the Lance and Graal!”
"Be the hour auspicious, and the gate of life open in peace and in well-being, so that she that beareth children may rejoice, and the babe catch life with both hands."
‎''There shall be no property in human flesh.' Nobody has a right to say what anyone else shall or shall not do with his or her body."
"1.
I behold a small dark orb, wheeling in an abyss of infinite space. It is minute among a myriad vast ones, dark amid a myriad bright ones.

2.
I who comprehend in myself all the vast and the minute, all the bright and the dark, have mitigated the brilliance of mine unutterable splendour, sending forth V.V.V.V.V. as a ray of my light, as a messenger unto that small dark orb.

3.
Then V.V.V.V.V. taketh up the word, and sayeth:

4.
Men and women of the Earth, to you am I come from the Ages beyond the Ages, from the Space beyond your vision; and I bring to you these words.

5.
But they heard him not, for they were not ready to receive them.

6.
But certain men heard and understood, and through them shall this Knowledge be made known.

7.
The least therefore of them, the servant of them all, writeth this."

all of these make me ponder immensly

My money ensures that TM teachers can afford to make teaching meditation their living. In India, spiritualists and meditators are considered a public service and survive off of the donations of the rest of society. I believe that TM works the same way.

imo, thought control should be conquered first, this quells anxiety which brings up these sporadic thoughts and ruins your meditation.
Sit comfortably, become detatched from your thoughts, watch them as if they passerbys, do not grasp onto any thought. At first you will realize that the main thoughts are going away, like ones about events and then you'll start working on the ones like "my back itches". After about a year you will be able to sit down and be completely still in your mind. Start with 5 min, increase every day till you are at 30 min, then i would seek advice on where to go from there

The mantras are: AUM
IAO
AUM is the vehicle of the universe, the manifestion of will, the spark of life.
A: The energy of creation
U: The energy of preservation
M: The energy of destruction
Two were/are active now in the universe
A: In the beginning
U: In the now and in the future, when a being dies, its energy is not destroyed but recycled, thus what seems is death is only preservation.
M: Unused, in the end

IAO: a broader meaning, correlating to the destiny of man

Wow, thanks for answering my questions.

I think the TM movement purposely keeps talk of religion and spirituality out of the discussion because it wants to retain its mass appeal and not offend any religious people or appear like a religion to atheists.

Did it really take you a year to "control" your thoughts? I just let the thoughts bubble up past and subtly and gently return to the mantra. This way the "dives" aren't struggles and my nervous system is able to relieve stress at its own pace.

The goal of the wise practitioner is to make himself in every way that which Good, to become that which is Good he must first have a grasp of what that is. The beginner goes through what meditations he goes through so that he may obtain that grasp. Once obtained he becomes embued with the way, every step a selfless step, every cry a cry for another's sake. An understanding unshakable in its wisdom, and undeniable in its product.
Silence breaks into rapture, in awe he sits erect, he sees the true nature of things and in this he comes to realize that he is not the mind, nor the body, but is the Good, and that which is Good everything has its base in. With this realization he bursts through all restrictions, all barriers, obtains a peace incomprehensible for now he is the Good and the Good is he. Enlightenment is obtained.

Davidson, if that is your real name, you are spending far to much time alone and in your own head. Humans are social creatures, we require contact with each other on a frequent basis. The lack of contact with your fellow man and the kind of introversion which you're describing will inevitably lead to insanity.

The fact that you are here, or anywhere, spreading this psychic filth is incredibly bad form on your part. What if someone of vulnerable intellect were to wonder in here and read this thread?
