If I hold a gun and starting running forward and shoot it then the resultant speed of the bullet is my speed plus the speed the gun made the bullet go. If I start running and turn a flash light on then isn't the light going faster than the speed of light?

Speed of light is relative to your own speed, as you getcloser to C, it getsharder to acellerate, to the point of impossibility (without an infinite supply of energy, or no rest mass).
