What do I need to study to become a nanoengineer?

nanotechnology i suppose.

2. balls
3. a testostertronic brain
4. virginity
5. no prospects of doing anything social, ever.

That's not a real thing. I mean you can put those words together and it points towards something real, but it's not a recognized job.

There's nanotechnology, which obviously involves some engineering. But really I just assume weaboo troll

If you want to get into nanotech you need a degree in physics, chemistry, or material science. Why the fuck do you think engineers do nanoshit? Do you even know what engineers are?

My BS and my current department both have the words "chemical engineering" on them and I work in nanotech.

nanotechnology is futurist bullshit popularized by ray kurzweil.

Nanomaterials find many uses right now, particularly catalysis. The estimated amount of nanomaterials produced in the next decade is going to go through the roof.

THAT is nanotechnology. This nanobot nanoassembly bullshit /sci/ is fascinated with is the scifi bullshit you're talking about.

I'm interested in what physical laws of the universe you can bring up to say such a machine is impossible, especially when there are people working toward it.

Nanoengeneering is Master's degree here in Europe taking usually 2 years (after you finish Bachelor degree which is 99% of time 3 years).

Therefor you need to finish 3 Bacherlor years which include this subjects among the many other you get(most probably you gonna choose the missing ones in 3rd year):
- atom theory
- kwantumphysics
- basic electronics
- current conductors

If you are a Eurofag than just visit university sites in your country.
