I need some help /sci/

I'm trying to figure out what i should chose for post secondary school, I'd like to take something that has Maximum pay for limited work.

For example; My mom makes 120k/yr in Canada before taxes, She works as a nurse in the ER. When she went to school you only needed a college degree, but now you need Bsc.

I'd like to take something that will be no longer then 4 years, and qualify me for a job that makes at least 120k/yr.

I get 85's-95's.

Business or economics would be my guess.

what specific jobs?

Become a pharmacist. Not only will you get maximum earnings for minimal work. You'll also get it for minimum talent required.

There are many technical specialities that are in huge demand, expect it to be flooded with students/braindrain migrants/labor saving devices within a few years though. Unless you want to go the same way as the handloom weavers you should either broaden your field or examine the possible future of that field and try to get promoted in the right areas.

Are you a fucking idiot? Become a nurse.

The only job that pays higher with a bachelor's is a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Except petroleum Engineering is probably balls out hard to do and not many schools offer it.

My mom is also a nurse, makes >100k and works 2 days a week.

Nursing is probably your best bet. My parents tried to convince me to do it, too. Also, if you're a guy they will hire you on the spot. They want male nurses badly (for diversity and because they are better at moving fat people, which is part of the job, seriously). Shit is cash.

If I wasn't dead set on med school, that's what I'd be doing right now.

Becoming a pharmacist will also require more than 4 years, though. You're also going to have to take ochem, which is pretty difficult for most people.

It's definitely an awesome profession though, it has probably got the best work to pay ratio of any job. Other than perhaps being a CEO for a corporation sufficiently large to pawn off all your duties onto underlings.

Your mother is in the extreme minority of nurses, and has most likely been at it for >20 years. Most nurses don't make that great of salaries (not necessarily bad though) and work a ton.

this

my aunt works in a major hospital here in California and makes >100k NOT INCLUDING OVERTIME working 3 times a week. Your years of experience and your state/region you work in all factors heavily. IIRC, most nurses dont even break the 70k mark in most areas. CA/NY nurses make a shit ton but passing the board exam in those states is retardedly hard.

Also the damn stress of the position. You can't compare it to something more leisurely such as programmer where you can take days off whenever you feel like it barring impending deadlines and such.

She works alot, 6 days a week, she is a psychiatric nurse though, she does crisis assessments for people coming the emerge for stuff like depression, suicide, drugs.

It's nothing i couldn't handle, i would just like to do something different.
