How do words work sci? Can you explain how they work scientifically. I know its relevant to literature, but in a scientific sense, how do us humans read all information that these weird generic symbols?

Fuckin words, how do they work?

Every child is indoctrinated with a Word Virus. The virus decodes words into proteins and releases the proteins into the reader's brain.

HEhehehe. Serious is that how science explains words? I mean, I have the religious version locked down, I was just wandering what science had to say on the matter.

First you give meanings to different sounds.
Then you assign different letters to each individual sound.

PRESTO! you can now communicate with other individuals using letters.

Alternately you assign meanings AND sounds to different letters, like how the Chinese alphabet works

time motherfucker! our "ooga ooga" ape talk eventually started to take symbolic meanings. motherfuckers began recognizing that shit, and then over MOAR time, some fag tried to make a system of writing, to document shit. so he took a vacation from clubbing animals to make english, the best and most important language in the world

the sound

>> No.2593773

we sense a thing.
we remember that sensory pattern.
we abstract the pattern and apply it to new things.
others show us sounds and symbols to associate with that abstraction.
the assignment of standard symbols to abstracted perceptions allows us intersubjectivity, communication.
the symbols we use are arbitrary, a priori and objective- the concepts we associate with those symbols are individual, and subjective.
a failure to standardize abstract meanings is a failure to communicate.
a failure to communicate is detrimental to a social animal.
those of us that survive are those of us that communicate.

thought, how does it work ?

>> No.2593956

The answer is god, in a strictly deist sense. Without intelligent design, words don't make sense.
