What should I do my particle physics Phd dissertation on?

Any ideas?

Why the tides come in and the tides go out, oh wait YOU CAN'T EXPLAIN THAT!

>> No.2586534

Whatever fucking field you're working under an advisor for! Oh wait you'd have to not be in high school fishing for cool sounding topics. Faggot.

Nope, that shit is old news. That shit has been known for hundreds of years. It also isn't particle physics, it is basic Classical Dynamics (a complete field).

>>2586534
I have the choice to pick my own topic in my field of physics (like most physicist). I am just asking for suggestions. Sorry you got so butthurt.

>> No.2586562

You're obviously not ready for a PhD because you can't choose the topic of your dissertation. You'll do it on whatever the fuck type of position you can get.

So, no ideas /sci/?

Lol you know what's funny is it actually isn't. Not denying I samefag from time to time (you all do too this is 4chan) but this was an actually genuine anonymous compliment.

Anyway OP since you seem set on continuing to troll I'll amuse myself with your ignorance.

If you're doing a phd in particle physics, explain to me the mathematical basis for supersymetry.

Hard mode: use math not words. Go!

I said particle physics, read the first post. "Modern particle physics" encompasses high energy and nuclear.

I stumbled on this article a while back

http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/20100725223630data_trunc_sys.shtml

It basically says there's some evidence that some particle decay times are affected by the rotation of Earth. As the Earth rotates they're sometimes closer and sometimes further to the sun, so the decay times change as well. Perhaps you could figure out which particles and why. You could also suggest to NASA to put different particles into space and see how that affects their decay times.

It is all done with group theory and gauge theory, like most of the standard model.

It also isn't confirmed. Supersymmetery seeks to unify the strong force with the electroweak, but we are actually really fucking far off from that shit. The electroweak unification actually isn't complete yet (still hypothetical on a fundmental level).

Why do you keep assuming I'm a troll?
