Most of the people are fighting for their 'countries', spending most of the money on the military, and leaving almost no money to space exploration and colonization. They fail to realize that if something goes wrong on our lonely and insignificant planet, us humans are doomed, with no technologies prepared to to escape this tiny piece of rock and metal.
Join the Rational Affiliation to change this, before it's too late.

Our Facebook page, on which we will have discussions related to space colonization, energy sources, the ways in which we could take over governments and about many science-related issues:

I'm planning to buy proper hosting soon, as well as spend around 1000 dollars (soon more) on advertising. When our group is known enough, we would seek for funding from various groups related to our cause, and then organize para-military and intelligence agencies in the Eastern Europe, preparing for the coup. We would target countries with a small military (about 500-5000) and a small population, which already had many successful coups.

No, I would be willing to spend $1,000 on advertising in the next few days.
I could spend far more on advertising in the time come, however.
We would advertise in a viral manner, which would get us millions of page-views. Once we have a solid cyber-base as well as quite a few members all over the globe, we would start real-life advertising campaigns, with fliers and controversy, which would get the media attention as well as thousands of real life members.

Even if we completely fail to get any funding from other members and groups than myself, we would still be able to fake our policy to comply with goals which would get us profit - we would not execute this policy once we're in power. Hitler, for example, got funding from bankers as well as some related political groups. Even some stupid skin-head groups are armed and have the power to take over a small Eastern European country.

Are you seriously stupid enough to think FTL travel is the only way to travel among the stars?

Moreover, are you stupid enough to think we have to come screeching across the light years to find an Earth-like planet? We have a very good solar system, thank you very much.

Of course FTL isn't the only way, we can move sub light speed, we do every day. But even at say, .5c it'd still take, say, 40.6 years to reach Gliese 581, and that's if, IF, Gliese 581 is actually habitable. So even if we manage an astounding velocity of .5c for our space crafts (which would be much, much, much, faster then the average electrcal current) it could still take thousands of years to reach a proper Earth-Like planet

Our economic policy is mixed actually, like that of the United States and most of the European countries - we don't support socialism or communist, we view some principles of those philosophies as harmful to the human species.

You want us to stop funding the military and use said for space research? .. thats fucking retarted..
the closest planet that even has a chance of sustaining life is many many star systems away. .. even using ion drive propulsion.(which we are no were close to perfecting) it would take 81,000 years just to reach the NEXT star system... have you people actually sat down and thought this cause through???

>you want us to stop funding the military and use said for space research

Nope. Military would receive funding - we would use it to take over poor 3rd world countries for resources.

>the closest planet that even has a chance of sustaining life is many many star systems away

We would simply establish life-sustaining colonies. On the asteroids and the Mars, we would split water on hydrogen and oxygen, and use oxygen for breathing, and store both hydrogen and oxygen as a rocket fuel. We would deliver food to the colonies using the VASIMIR propulsion systems.

We would still leave them enough money to buy things to eat as well as useful items needed for education and basic emotional happiness. They don't need it otherwise, as their culture and state of economy is suppressing most of them from doing anything productive. Some time later, when we start working on a cultural unification, we would stop exploiting 3rd world countries as we would actually educate them, and even give them a huge lot of financial aid.

I wonder what country you mean, because what you would have to overthrow is either the russians or Nato, and not even China could do that with all its power. If you don't see why this is true then you have no idea how the world works and maybe you should study up on it before you try to change it.

We would fake some of our policy to fit the values of the dominating countries. We would also get a big part of the society active, to get a solid base - when we have a solid base, it would be very hard to get us out of our position.

You underestimate the state of some of those countries. I live in one and we even have unlimited 100Mbps available for its citizens at fairly cheap prices, a lot of "first world" countries don't even have it this cheap. I also think you overestimate the amount of natural resources they have.

Martian settlements won't save us if we're not among the few astronauts able to live there. Why don't we spend that Martian project money on things that can actually protect all of Earth from catastrophic threats? It would seem like a wiser investment to use that capital on asteroid deflection systems and sustainable technologies.

Merely stating that they're not as backwater as you think they are. You'll essentially be causing unneeded suffering and conflict, and I don't think it could even go anywhere as >>2575421 mentioned.

Your goals (expanding into space) are better fulfilled by things like creating human-like AI and life extension technologies. Do you really think we, humans of such short lifespans are suitable for surviving in space (and exploring outside of our solar system)? We must solve our own /human/ problems first before we consider that.

Do you realize that on such a small scale of being technologically developed, we managed to have 2 world wars and a long Cold War, during which we almost destroyed our civilization, and perhaps our species as well? We need to spread our civilization throughout the space in the first place, there's no time to loose.

I wouldn't be causing any unnecessary suffering and conflict at all. The invasion of some 3rd world countries wouldn't be an unnecessary conflict - we would educate these countries and force a more efficient culture on them.
