Hey /sci/, I was wondering if any of you were taking computer science and what you think about it. Also whats your favorite programming language?

>> No.2549187

'favorite programming languages' are for information systems majors. Computer scientists never send java in to do prolog's job.

>> No.2549198

They only acceptable programming language is assembly. Everything else is casual shit. (Except maybe microcode)

>> No.2549213

I was mostly talking about what you enjoyed programming in since I have seen a lot of debate about programming languages on the internet

>> No.2549238

People who love programming love C++. Other languages can be fun, but usually as novelties.

>> No.2549310

Pesudocode. If you can't turn that into whatever programing language to have to hand, you don't know shit about programming.

>> No.2549506

this semester has been humiliating. half the kids have their laptops out in class and ive been taught how numbers are represented in binary for the millionth time. there are no challenges and the teachers dont even expect a very high level of comprehension.

when did everything get so soft? fav language: C/C++. fav new lanuguage: R

Fuckin Java for the win. I just wrote my own 3D rendering engine and it's fucking awesome.

Binary isn't a programming language. It is a number base. Faggot.

Scala from static ones, Python from dynamic.

Learn Python, become hacker.

C. Plain old vanilla C.

>> No.2550226

It's all about machine code, bro. Not even assembly.

When CS departments the world over decided that CS should be the study of getting-a-job-as-a-programmer instead of Computer Science.

Programming in machine language = programming in assembly, then running the assembler in your head. You're still essentially writing in assembly.
