or are you simply referring to the 1-2 years during which all schools pay graduate student salaries, during which they must find a research group or leave with a masters?
if you are signed up with a research group getting paid an RA salary BEFORE YOU EVEN GO IN JUNE....


then you beat out 99.999% of the students in the western world, lol.

uh.. I believe the standard one. they call it a research assitantship, 2600/month. apparently you can choose a few groups to rotate between a few for the first quarters. once you a find one you like and fit with, you just stay working with them.
