I'll get this out of the way early so you don't go 100 posts while not understanding some fundamental shit here:

You can only travel as far back in time as when your time machine was made. If you make the first time machine in 2050, you can not use it to go to 2011. But in 2080, you can go back to 2050.

And we probably will never make them anyway. That's not to say they're impossible, but I doubt humanity will ever create one. More likely to create a dyson sphere than a time machine.

1. If you make a car, you can only travel as far as your car dealership is from your house.

2. Time travel is not possible, will never be possible, and won't ever be done.

3. If it was possible, there'd be no arbitrary restriction like that.

4. Dyson spheres are science fiction. It's not feasible to do that, it's not efficient to do that, and it's not realistic to waste resources. Also, it's not a physically possible structure.

That only refers to a specific proposed kind of time machine, which of course is fucking stupid to generalize given the fact that inventing a time machine implies learning shit about the way time machines work, i.e. any preconceived bullshit about them that doesn't lead to their creation is probably not relevant.
