I'm taking a calculus of variations class next quarter, and the professor recommended four books as outside references. They're all Dover books so they range from 12-20 dollars. I want to get 2, maaaybe 3 of them (obviously don't need all 4). Does anyone recommend any of these over the others?

Calculus of Variations- Elsgolc
Calculus of Variations- Gelfrand
Intro to Calculus of Variations- Fox
Intro to Calculus of Variations- Sagan

I did, he said none of them are required, but since they're cheap and good, he said if you can swing getting an outside reference book, he'd recommend those 4.
