Celsius is Windows and Fahrenheit is Linux. You fuckers like it when you don't have to think.

Is it slowly rising up in temp? Nope, still rounding to 0.

Glad to see I'm not the only stoned person on /sci/.

I like how Fahrenheit employs pie radians.

Too much accuracy for your little engineer brains to handle.

Q: Is it cold outside?
>Celsius to the rescue
Q: Is the Atlantic Ocean getting ever so slightly hotter?
>decimal point to the rescue
Q: Is this astronomical object "cold"?
>Kelvin to the rescue
The fuck do you even need Farnheit for?
What in the fuck

agreed, the fahrenheit system was based on the average human body temp, which was set to 100.

Yeah, makes sense

derp

I too see no valid reason to replace the Fahrenheit scale other than "LOL THE REST OF THE WORLD USES IT"

>> No.2219338

>>2219090
What? No. The original set points of Fahrenheit were the freezing point of brine and pure water. Not that Celsius is much better, with absolute zero and the triple point of water. Fuck all ya'll niggas.

That's a pretty valid reason bro. Sure you might have grown up speaking Spanish but this is an English speaking world, you're going to need to learn it at some point.

What do you come in contact with more, human bodies or water/air?
>Farnheit: "cold" and "warm" are just those floating non-descriptive fractions of your own body temp, maaan
>Celsius: MANY MINUS VERY BAD. MINUS BAD. PLUS GOOD. MANY PLUS VERY GOOD

Celcius is great when you live in a part of the world where it freezes for half the year. You can look at the sign of the temperature and think, "shit, it's gonna be icy outside," or "better get my waterproof boots because there's going to be a lot of slush."

Also, if you want to boil some shit, you get a nice round number, I guess.

>> No.2219521

Celcius is for coldfags who can't imagine a place where it stays within a few degrees Celsius for most of the year, like places around the equator.

>> No.2219793

Celsius is for faggots. /thread

SI-Units, we use Kelvin, end of story, learn or get the fuck out

>> No.2219818

About SI units, from wiki

"The system has been nearly globally adopted. Three principal exceptions are Burma (Myanmar), Liberia, and the United States."

mostly to piss everyone else off.

why do you ask?
i would have thought it was obvious.

They are centered differently. Huge difference: have fun using Celsius in any chemical equation faggot (unless it involved delta-T)
