Are games made to make you feel inferior to the character you play as?

The character you play as always has a PERFECT face. As in no acne, perfect skin, natural beauty, perfect facial dimensions, good features.

They are always tall, but not gigantic. Probably between 6'0-6'4.

They usually show exceptional strength compared to the other people in the world even though they might have a thin frame. But they are mostly ripped if they have their clothes off.

They have voice actors and a script that make them sound well spoken and witty.

Best of all they do things that no one in real life has really done. In these video games you can get away with killing 10,000's of people. More than what a single person ever did with his own barehands, ever.

If someone existed like this in real life and killed a few people, he would be caught so quickly.

I'd say 95% of the general population does not qualify for being good looking and probably 99% doesn't qualify as being good looking (perfect like in the game), strong, well spoken, and tall

The simple answer is no one wants to play as a regular person

One reason superman was so popular was because he was completely overpowered and had a exaggerated masculine appearance.

A good game will have you so immersed in the game that you identify yourself as the main character. No one wants to be a weak, fat, neckbeard.

Games (used to be at least) marketed only towards males, so females always had to have a sexy appearance because it sells games
