If you just made that, you should seriously post it on /v/ with the /sci/ changed

No, this plays on the fact that both of them are cyborgs.
It was just easier to do this than it would have been to draw up(with my non-existent talent) any visible augmentations on them.

Also, I no longer think that /v/ can appreciate a good game.

I haven't been to /v/ in a while, but last I checked they still had a hardon for Deus Ex

Just like /sci/ can't have a good discussion about science.
All boards are like that - intelligent individuals drowning in a sea of durrhurr.

Oh, I didn't get the reference. I just lol'd because I thought it was referring to the concept of a 4th spatial dimension, I guess the game did as well

>referring to the concept of a 4th spatial dimension, I guess the game did as well

Nah, it's a reference to the character being Russian. Well, I guess maybe it's meant to have echoes of the dimension thing.

The lady in question is a military cyborg, and hearing the words "flatlander woman" is her killswitch - it makes her explode in an EMP burst.

>> No.2116295

>>2116284
I think the game referred Niven in that.
>The in-universe term flatlander refers to any human born on Earth, in contrast to those who live on other planets or space habitats.

Oh! Maybe. But there was no space exploration in Deus Ex.

I thought it was just like, from the flatlands. You know, cos she was from Russia.

If you read some of the newspapers, I thenk there's at least one near the helipad while searching for the ambrosia canisters, there's news about lunar cargo lrailgun test that goes badly wrong(hinted at it being sabotage).

I also seem to remember there being some news about a probe somewhere, but I can't say for sure, that could have been some other game.

>> No.2116393

>>2116383
Oh okay, I don't remember that stuff.
But your idea still doesn't really make sense, since everyone in the game is born on earth.

I still think it makes more sense that she's from the flatlands in Russia.

But it does make sense if you remember that the game makes references to other scifi authors.

Of course, that requires you to read most of the texts in the game and not just those that are needed to advance the plot.
