for those whose interests are within astronomy and those without just as well: do you find yourself more interested in astronomy, and you are from a rural area where the stars are visible in the evening, and vice versa being from a more urban area you have less of an interest in astronomy?

Depending on the day of the week, I live in a city, or in the countryside. All in all, I like to see the night sky clearly.

I'm interested in astronomy and I've lived in rural areas my entire life, but I don't really go outside much so I don't think it really matters. Though there isn't much better than a crisp fall night on a new moon.

thats the sort of answer i'm looking for. i've been drinking a bit, visiting family in the sticks, where i grew up and wondered if more astronomers tend to come from rural areas. would make sense, id think.
