Ok, took this screen shot of this guy on /sci/ a few days ago. Thread was about where do you want to be in 20 years. Just wanted to find him again, he was awesome.

>> No.2057026

also, what are the goals of the people of /sci/?

Life was much more simple back in those days of dial-up. you waited around for pages to load and it was FUN. it was social, a group of friend could come over and sit and watch things load and talk. it was FUN!

Some aspects of a hunter gather type lifestyle are good for homo-sapiens. If we look at especially their relation to nature, we see that they worshiped nature directly. They were in constant connection with it. They would adorn thier skins with animals and symbols that were at the forefront of their lives the thing that gave them power or connection to nature. Now the difference is today science fill that role, we should be adorning our bodies with sines and cosine the Pythagorean theorem, chemical equations and constants. I'm not saying to worship spirits in the shamanic sense. I'm saying that science and technology are our connection to nature. I say anarchist because the state is an organism, one that exists for itself. technology has the ability to make humanity more free than it has ever been.

I assume you were the person asking before:

Alrighty, prepare for crudeness!

Trans-human~Simple enough, the idea in mind is to move beyond what it means to be human in todays age.

Technicism based~A heavily technologically focused mindset; wherein, it is basically viewed that science and the subsequent advances in technology will resolve 'problems'.

Anarcho~ anti government?

techno-primitivist~I'm sure you can figure this one out by now; which was why I was questioning it's inclusion earlier.

>> No.2057199

>>2057173
I include it because unlike actual primitivist I don't see technology as bad it is a our evolutionary adaptation and our only way forward is to continue our merger with it. I say primitivist because this way of life is against our natures. In the end nature decides if we are worthy of this power. We either grow up and learn to live with high technology or we die. It's evolution.

Our relationship with technology is important, if we are irresponsible, and don't grow up and use technology in a way that is at least neutral to our survival it's a selection pressure. We destroy ourselves. If however we use it to make ourselves smarter and survive harsher and harsher environments then we will make it. We aren't playing a just genes game anymore, meme's are involved.
