I have a book by Carl Sagan that has proven itself to be far more factually accurate then the Bible. As for thousands of years, oppression under penalies is hardly faith for most. You have about 200-300 years of open~ faith at best.

P.S. - The Jews, Buddhists, Hindus are all older then you and have far more writings. For example the Hindu epics(whos length make the Bible look like a small airport pamphlet) where written 500 years before Jesus was purported to have existed by the Bible, (and about 1000 years before Jesus was even added in his current form to it).
