If even this rudimentary type of stimulation can produce a positive effect, imagine what a full-fledged mind/machine interface could do to increase the performance of cognition. I'm all for using technology to enhance human capabilities. It's the only out for people who, like me, believe in the positive potential of the future but also perceive that the human species is deeply flawed and inherently unable to reach that potential in its current form.
