If gravity didn't exist, what would an atom look like?

>> No.1998136

Relatively unchanged

>> No.1998139

>>1998134
It'd be the same. Gravity has no real effect at that level. look up strong force + weak force

>> No.1998143

it wouldn't look like anything. gravity holds everything together. even the quarks would separate from the electrical instabilities. without gravity (better yet, [insert natural force]) nothing would exist in any conceivable manner

>> No.1998147

>>1998134

if there were no gravity, hydrogen fusion would not occur naturally and there would be no light by which to see.

therefore, the question is not what an atom would look like, but what "look" would mean

No.

Ever notice how you can make an object completely overcome the gravity of the entire Earth with just a tiny application of any other natural force? Rub a balloon in your hair to build a tiny static charge and it'll attach itself to a wall. Rub a piece of metal with some cheap magnet enough times to make said piece of metal barely magnetic and suddenly it too can attach itself to other metallic objects completely negating the existence of gravity even at the planetary level.

>> No.1998159

so if gravity holds everything and gives everything shape why is it when ppl are out in space that they keep form as opposed to having all of their cells separate because nothing is keeping them intact?

0/10, or just plain dumb. I'll bite and pretend you aren't trolling: Gravity isn't what holds our bodies together. Gravity keeps us more or less pinned to the earth, but on smaller levels (human bodies, airplanes, etc), it's the nuclear forces that keep us bound together.
There's several major forces at work in the universe:
1. strong nuclear force
2. weak nuclear force
3. electromagnetism
4. gravity
5. umami

atomic bonds are more than just electrical forces keeping everything together. gravity works on quantum levels. if any natural force was to be destroyed, all existence would... not

humans have an "elan vital", or life force, that keeps their atoms from dissociating in zero g. it is not, however, strong enough to withstand my blender.

first you must know how fast do gravitons travel.

gravity is not just the force holding something to the planet. it is the attractive force between any two objects in time/space. even outside the atmosphere, gravity still has far reaching effects, orbit being the most predominant

Gravity isn't real. Not every consequence you see is a particle. Sometimes -- more than ONE thing contributes to an effect.

Have you fucking smartasses ever thought of that?

i always laugh at these idiots. they have no sense of scale, they forget what holds the universe together in the first place. without gravity even if you could have astronomical objects it would be fucked and spread no where in particular. no galaxies. no orbiting planets. Gravity is the most awesome force in the universe, its so crazy it can defeat light.

TL:DR try your balloon bullshit on the surface of a neutron star you niggers
