Applied to Oxford, but wanted to get it out of the way early anyway. Not going to get in at Oxford tbh, just my college wouldn't have sent it off for me this early if I hadn't applied there.

NZfag doing CIE exams, our unis use the UCAS tarrif from 3 a-levels. They're pretty shit tier, though, hardest course at the best uni only requires 280.

Considering either Physics or Mechatronics Engineering. Oh, and I just checked, the course with the highest requirements is actually 300, or BBB, for a conjoint Engineering degree.

Applied for maths, no offers yet...
Cambridge,
Durham,
Warwick,
Surrey,
Sussex.

:(

>> No.1961252

>>1961240
Warwick are being damn slow this year...
Apparently last year they had already given out most of the offers/rejections for maths by 15th October. I only know of about 4 people who have an offer from them so far. Which Cambridge college are you applying to?

>> No.1961267

>>1961252
Really, wow nobody I know has offers so far.
I'm applying to Emmanuel.

>> No.1961278

>>1961267
I only actually know 1 person who has an offer, he got it today, but overall I know of 4 people who have (mostly on the student room).
It's kind of my first choice/backup so hope they respond soon. :)

>> No.1961285

>>1961278
Same, it's the first semi-realistic choice for me.

>> No.1961305 [DELETED]

Cool, most people I know who are applying to Oxbridge seem to be determined to get in there. Thought I was the only one who was applying there without actually believing that I'll get in! Everyone else seems uber confident, there's even a guy who said "I'm not applying to Oxford, but if I did I would get in." I just ಠ_ಠ'd him and said "sure you will".

>> No.1961325

Interesting. Most people applying seem to be determined that they're gonna get in, few people have the balls to even give it a shot.. I figured might as well, you get 5 choices and I think it's better to put 1 fairly unrealistic choice and 1 shit tier choice rather than 2 mid/shit tiers like most people do.

Why do you say it's unrealistic for you?
For me my GCSE's are well below the average (too much of the vidya) and dropped a couple of grades in my AS levels as well for similar reasons. So on paper I look kind of shitty compared to most others applying there, although my predicted grades are A*A*A* I don't think they put much weight on those.

The entrance test seems alright, so if all goes well I'll do alright in that and get myself an interview. :)

>> No.1961328

>>1961325
*When I say the average I mean the average for Oxbridge applicants, which is 6 or 7A* IIRC.
