Science, i'm sorry, but I fell for some troll physics.
Can someone tell me why this one doesn't work? I cannot think it through today.

Sorry in advance.

(I'm assuming that you counter the magnetic effects on the balls to the right of the magnet you don't want to pull by insulating the magnet so it only pulls from the top down.)

That device would work. The only thing is that no such seal exists for the water chamber.

>> No.1949182

The water on the bottom of the tank will exert downward force equal to the upward force it puts on the buoyant balls

Any new balls will not be able to go in

Also, you cannot shield the magnet. It would actually act to seize the device

>> No.1949186

1) The magnet does nothing. The amount of energy the ball gains by being attracted to the magnet, is lost, because the ball still has to escape that magnet.

2) similar to 1, the energy it takes to push a bunch of water out of the way to get it in the tank, is going to be the same energy that goes back into the ball to make it lift to the surface.

The machine might move on its own for about 2 inches (or however far the balls are apart) but then it will stop.

It does, its called a geothermal reactor.

kinda retarted not really troll physics the left part is like any waterfall and the right just taking advantage of geothermal energy

>> No.1949455

Not as it's pictured, but that's basically geothermal energy.

its making use of geothermal energy and hydroelectric energy. its not troll physics, this works and is used. (although individually, not at the same time.)
