How difficult is astrophysics?

Currently doing a degree in mechanical engineering. What kind of difficulty level difference am I looking at?

Depends. Are you solely interested in celestial mechanics? Because if you want to do Astrophysics as in Cosmology, you'd better know your shit around quantum chromodynamics, thermal field theory, or general relativity / string theory.

Celestial mechanics and anything that involves aerospace/mechanical engineering. They're useful to each other?

Sure, that's more than useful for anything in satellite/spacecraft engineering. Sure, it's not easy as piss, but it shouldn't be much different than your current mechanics.

espescially chapter 5 onwards ..

science in general is more difficult then engineering

Not to sound mean, but most engineers are just too fucking stupid to do real science.

Good luck
