Matter bends spacetime, right?
How do we know there is a particle at the center of the bend? How do we know what we call "matter" is not just the bend itself?

>> No.1836853

Because it doesn't matter which is true.

Science is full of things like this: phenomena that have multiple perfectly valid interpretations. Not technically useful, but awesome to think about when stoned.

Hey now, I haven't done drugs in years. It just makes me skeptical that we're still looking for the Higgs boson, and matter is forever just a bit too small to detect, what with the atom being 99.999...% empty space. If there are no actual massive particles in the middle of these warps in spacetime, that means we shouldn't find the higgs, right?

Matter is simply where fields share tangents. They are 0 dimensional objects. There are no objects, just averages.

>> No.1836918

Maybe not a particle, that's just our way of describing. Can't just be the space/time warping though as how else would you explain charge?

Are you one of those "matter is a wave" people?

Fuck you. I thought for years that it was my idea.

I dont see how that relates, either there is a physical that bends space, or there is only the bend in space that we treat as a point

You're just made out of probability. Cope!
