hey /sci/, my daughter is trying to come up with an idea about her class science project. We were thinking about a Biefeld-Brown Lifter. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Also wondering about what type of power source we could use for it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

aw jeez....does anyone else have any pertinent input?

I made one once.... used an old computer moniter

It was kinda fail but would kinda try to float I think i used too heavy of aluminum foil

>> No.1829580

I think you have too much wood, use a light weight plastic or cellulose straw for most of the structural componates

>> No.1829588

>>1829565
Oh really? I heard about using a monitor as a power source. Were you able to use variable voltage with that method? What would you recommend as a power source if you had to do it again?

op how old is your daughter

she is 13, in the 8th grade, but it is a high school class. its a really big project for her.

Playing with monitor power supplies is pretty damned dangerous, man.

can you post pictures of her

>>1829629
yea, I dont think that would be a good idea either. I am willing to but a variable power supply for the project. I know there are some for pretty cheap. Maybe even used...

you got this thing extremely light

You want to tether it so you don't really need the variability just use an old crt

mine would shake around a bit and if I lifted it with some fishing line it would kinda fall slowly after hesitating

Also its highly dangerous so I would recommend having your daughter turn on the monitor using an outlet strip with an extension cord going to the screen. Then have her run over and hold it in her hands. After she dies you should post pics. Is it legally rape if she is already dead?

What is the hypothesis you wish to test with this science project?

True dat. OP, she has to address the requirements, which probably include a hypothesis.

recreating the results of others is science only for the first couple of times, then it turns into engineering very fast

You don't win science fairs with engineering projects

we were thinking about how the variable voltage applied to the lifter effects how much weight could be raised. does more voltage=more weight

I'm ignoring it. I have never posted on /sci/, but I have lurked here, and I know that there are some brilliant people who post here. I was hoping to catch some of their attention. Also, I may be older, but I know a failtroll when I see one.

serious question OP

how would you react if your daughter had a sex life (with boy(s)/girl(s) near her age ofc)?

Isn't necrophilia also a crime? Probably not as severe consequences, but it's a limited-use thing...

Technically it probably wouldn't be pedo but it's moot cause now you've committed murder <span class="math">and[/spoiler] necrophilia.

I'll be honest, I used to think these things were pure BS, so I never really learned about them. For some reason I still have no desire to whatsoever. Weird eh?
