I really like this girl and she's a Math major, do you think she'd be impressed if I gave her the equation 9x-7i >3(3x-7u) and asked her to solve for i?

>> No.1700793

No, because I did it in my head and it's extremely corny!

>> No.1700803

dats Inequation not equation brah

>My face when I'm trippin balls because I'm thinking of this in logical terms.
Her lack of balls must be true

She'll think you're a fucking retard.

No mail it to your math professor, preferably if he was male.

lol, better than asking for a phone number

She'd probably laugh and think you were joking.

That's fucking gold.

>> No.1700939

I encourage you to do it. I'm not trolling, I think it would be sweet. If she laughs at you you can always just say, "Fuck you" and move on.

>> No.1700941

>>1700786

Depends on where she goes to school at and why she wants to be a math major.

Answer that shit and I'll tell you if you should give it to her.

>> No.1700948

>>1700831

why cant you have inequalities with imaginary numbers? Shit don't make sense

>> No.1700951

>>1700948

Because no matter how you define an order on the complex numbers it leads to a contradiction. That's the short answer.

>> No.1700956

>>1700948
i<x
-1<ix
1/x>i (assuming x>0)
i<1/x
1/x<i (assuming x<0)
i>1/x
x>i>1/x
x>1/x when x<0
yeah, and fuck you too.

Inequalities dont make sense with complex numbers.

How do you compare i to 1? or 3i to 7?
What about 3+4i and 4+3i?
You cant say one is "greater than" or "less than"

You could compare the modulus of each, but that is asking something different.

>> No.1700967

>>1700956

impressive

>> No.1700971

At first I got 3u>i and didn't get it.

>> No.1701039

>>1700786
assuming i is not the imaginary number, I solved that ``at a mere glance''

she would not be impressed, unless she was a frosh and maybe not even then

also she might be a little creeped out, how well do you know her / has it been established there is something between you?

Silly mathematicians, the imaginary number i has the fancy strokes at each end. Don't get so confused.

>> No.1701093

go up to her and say "Don't you wish i was a millennium prize problem? That way I'd be really hard and you'd be doing me on the desk" shit always works op

>> No.1701097

"My love for you is a monotonically increasing unbounded function"
or this >>1701093

>> No.1701129

>>1701097

I think that'd be enough to make any math majors heart melt. Go for it.

This thread is now about awesome math/sci pickup lines. (None of this "I wish I were your derivative so I can be tangent to your curves" bullshit. Good lines.)
