So i'll be taking physics this year in high school. Really looking forward to it.

What should I look forward to learning most? I really wanna learn more about the speed of light the smaller bits of atoms.

Special relativity I guess.

the most basic bullshit you can think of.

don't even take physics unless it is a calculus physics course.

will i at least learn Newton's laws and particle theory? what about electromagnetism

No.

Classical Mechanics. Unless you take AP Physics: C

you will be taught the basic ideas.

you know those shitty art classes you take for a easy A, well its the same idea, they just tell you some BS that isn't very important.

Sure you can learn newtons laws, but you don't even know what acceleration really is, or how to find the center of mass on objects that are not symmetrical.

physics without calculus is for people who don't give a shit and just want to fill a science credit.

Mass m is suspended from the ceiling by two massless ropes. One rope meets the mass at 30' from the vertical, one rope meets at 45'. What is the tension in each rope herp derp herppp

well crap :(

I was never too good at math so I'm stuck in Alebra II as a Senior. I wish I had studied more in my math classes.

you should A) learn basic calc. it will help out.
B) you will learn newtonian mechanics. thats pre relativity,
C) electromagnetism and its accompanying rules
D) waves
E) BASIC atomic theory
F) touch on what relativity is. i sujjest a briefer history of time.

I just finished AP Physics, and it's pretty cool.
The subjects you'll learn will go like this.

trig/math foundations
kinematics (basic motion velocity, acceleration)
newtons laws of motion (inertia and force and stuff)
Impulse/Specific impulse
circular motion (centripetal force)
Kinetic and Potential energy
simple harmonic motion (pendulum and springs)
Electricity (circuits and voltage and current)
Magnetism (induction and other stuff)
Thermodynamics
Fluid dynamics
Light/Optics
VERY VERY BASIC INTRO INTO QUANTUM STUFF.

when i say basic, i mean like, you'll learn plancks constant and thats about it.

Well that's how my teacher did it.
