2. /pol/ and /x/ spam aside, we're actually still seeing quality discussions and persistent general discussion threads (and even added a few this year) and major events like space launches or announcements for big experiment results still bring in hundreds, sometimes thousands of posts
3. /sci/ still attracts actual professors, professional researchers, post-docs, etc. - but most of us also have actual fucking work to do and can't spend all day endlessly posting on a Montenegrin crepe recipe forum.
