I feel you bruh, but as someone who just finished an MS in math last year and is currently in a phil phd program, let me tell you these philosophers are pretty bad at math. Every time I see a philosopher encounter a mathematical model they always criticize it on the ground that it's empirically inadequate, not sufficiently motivated, it fails to incorporate some variable, or it has a limited scope of application. Generally, the criticism take on one of those forms, although they often aren't phrased as clearly. For example, the cosine enables you to approximate the planetary motion of the two body problem to an arbitrarily close degree. If we "scrapped" the cosine, we'd not be able to do this anymore.
