"Dark matter" is just modern-day epicycles, a placeholder explanation. We're seeing a real phenomenon, but you have to shift perspective to a higher dimension to understand what's really happening.

Dark matter is just matter in one or more parallel universes. The gravity from those universes leaks across dimensions into our universe.

We can only detect the gravity from other universes. We can't see the matter because we are dimensionally restricted to this universe.

Think about it: If you had a magic filter that would allow you to look out into space and see only "dark matter", you would see a bunch of fuzzy blobs that look like galaxy clusters, but out-of focus. You're just seeing the gravitational "shadows" of galaxies in parallel universes.

There must be some substantial distance between our universe and the parallel universe(s), which "smears out" and weakens the gravitational signal, but the signal is still there. Alternatively, the other-universe gravity might be smeared-out because there are many parallel universes, all slightly different, and that makes the "dark matter" look fuzzy.

How do I know this? I just made it all up. But it's better than epicycles, and parallel universes leaking gravity into this universe is more entertaining than invisible "dark matter".
