Oh boy a new thread. I wonder what's in it...

>global warming
>vaccine
>covid
>medical
>scientific fraud
>medical establishment
>twitter screenshot thread

>nootropics
Meanwhile. quality threads are pruned on time limits. Please stop this madness. /sci/ is a slow board.

I think we need a few days per month where we all try to post new quality threads. At these days we join forces to sage out ahitty threads and set up new ones with substance.

I was pretty active on /sci/ but left around the time I finished my thesis, that was late 2019, early 2020.
I come back here occasionally and am baffled every time how low this place has fallen. I wasn't here to see it, but I assume it all started with COVID bringing a bunch of retards here.
Luckily it's not a board I care about, but I think the same is happening with /k/ and the Ukraine war right now, that board much like this one will probably never recover.

Most of those are incredibly interesting threads. Have you considered how they would be discussed by quality anons? See the contents of these books for what IQ threads could be if they weren't discussed by mentally ill losers.
>IQ
- "Handbook of Statistical Genomics", eds. Balding et al.
- "Evolution and Selection of Quantitative Traits", Lynch & Walsh
- "Measuring the Mind", Borsboom
- "Handbook of Modern Item Response Theory", eds. van der Linden & Hambleton
- "Foundations of Measurement", vols. I-III, Krantz et al.
- "Bias in Mental Testing" and "The g Factor", Jensen
>consciousness
And the search for neural correlates of consciousness is practically a scientific detective thriller with the complexity and ethical constraints. Get anons who aren't retarded: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2023.06.23.546249v1

Dysgenics, you forgot dysgenics. If we continue to have our present breeding patterns inferior traits will be selected for, increasing these detrimental traits in the population. Eventually this will lead to civilizational collapse.

The problem is always going to be one of incentives. I'm not going to, except by accident, post an interesting idea because an interesting idea to me is one that is pushing boundaries where I can't find literature exploring what I'm currently thinking about. Reason for that should be self evident, as if I do so I do not benefit from the products of my labor mentally or otherwise.

There are quite a few times I get new ideas, and I have quite a mound of notes that are sometimes found to be reinventing the wheel and other times withstand testing and appear to be unique just waiting for sufficient development. If I were to post "interesting content" by my standard I'd only be screwing myself over, and so the only truly interesting posts by my own metric are posts made inadvertently pushing boundaries and screwing over the post author.

So the incentive is, at most, only posting what amounts to literature reviews and explaining science. Or screw up and screw yourself out of benefiting from your own effort.
