>> No.16045719

Red meat is good for you, thats why people who abstain from it consider themselves to be self-sacrificing. If it was bad for you then vegans wouldn't brag about avoiding it as if that was some sort of great feat of self control and willpower.

>> No.16045724

And you know why? It’s because it isn’t natural. These animals have been domesticated over many years and no longer have the gamey taste they once had. You wouldn’t be into meat as much if you had to eat the gamey stuff.

Even raw red meat smells great. Fuck, even if slightly stale the smell gives you a hint of how many nutrients it has.

You know what? I will give you a paradox I haven't solved myself: we are told cholesterol levels have gone down, and we can see a replacement of traditional butter and meat with grains and seed oils in the US. While at the same time, somehow, the population has gotten fatter, from a low of 10% being obese to now whopping 50% obese and total of 80% at least overweight. So how come life expectancy has supposedly increased? Testosterone is also at a historical low by the way. Last time I checked the excess deaths from the last years has supposedly and ridiculously brought life expectancy back to 1995 levels. So how trustworthy is the life expectancy number even? And how has heart disease deaths supposedly decreased until 2020 if people became an army of land whales?

These numbers don't add up.

vegan diet induces brain-damage after (often times less than) 3 month. What they do or say can not be assumed logically coherent or even sane and must therefore always be dismissed.

(pic related is brain atrophy in a child due to vit. b12 deficiency - and yes, you are not a baby, but you still need this shit for maintanance + vit b12 isn't the only nutritional deficiency that is commonly induced by vegetarianism / veganism)

It's very hard to talk about food science since even smart people are mentally ill when it comes to the topic. Sugar addiction is real. It also helps that I'm a cautious person who rejected the vax unlike most retards on /sci/, so I'm no stranger to telling the Jew to fuck off.

Humans evolved to eat high fat megafauna ruminant meat. Anything else is technically not species appropriate. We can tolerate butter and ghee and stuff like that but plants are toxic as fuck. White people can have dairy as well but even then I noticed my skin quality going to shit when I consume dairy.

Smoking is the biggest factor which caused lower average life expectancy 50 years ago. Also exercise is much more prevalent than it was in 1970. Medical treatments for heart disease, like bypass surgery, have gotten more effective and widely used. Cancer diagnostics have become more prevalent and effective, so they're catching cancers earlier. People didn't get routine colonoscopies or mammograms 50 years ago like they do today. All these things considered, the average person should be living to 90, but 50 years of advancements in medical science and public health have mostly been canceled out by the proliferatiom of hyperprocessed food and misguided nutritional advice.

Red meat is bad for your personal health: it is associated with decreased life expectancy, obesity, higher LDL cholesterol, higher risk for type 2 diabetes, prostate cancer, colon cancer, hormonal imbalance... It typically also contains microplastics and pesticide residues. Studies from Loma Linda University indicate that vegan men could live up to 9 years longer than your average american. Vegan women could also live 7 years longer.

Even worse, meat in general is terrible for public health. It is one of the main causes for global warming, deforestation, water and air pollution... All of which drastically reduces the quality of life of humanity. It is also responsible for 60% of all current human pathogens. Ebola, influensa and covid 19 broke out from meat consumption. For example the Spanish flu which caused 50 million human deaths broke out in a chicken farm. 80% of all antibiotics used in the United States arefed to farm animals, while 5 million humans die every year due to antibiotic resistance.

>new consensus
This isn't peer-reviewed science; it's the controversal opinion of one person who has spent years advocating for this single issue.

If you want to know what the consensus is, check wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturated_fat#Association_with_diseases
> There is moderate-quality evidence that reducing the proportion of saturated fat in the diet and replacing it with unsaturated fats or carbohydrates for a period of at least two years leads to a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease. A 2021 review found that diets high in saturated fat were associated with higher mortality from all-causes and cardiovascular disease.

> In 2019, the UK Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) published a report "Saturated fats and health" which examined 47 systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Their report concluded that higher saturated fat consumption is associated with raised blood cholesterol and increased risk of heart disease.

https://www.bmj.com/content/355/bmj.i5796
> Higher dietary intakes of major SFAs are associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease.

And so on.

Even assuming saturated fats are healthy, meat is still a lot more calorific than legumes, cooked grains, fruits, vegetables, and most other vegan ingredients. If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight.

>Red meat is good for you
The red pill is that only organic grassfed pasture raised red meat is good for you.

There's a massive body of research demonstrating the harmful effects of red meat consumption, but the literature conveniently omits the important detail that the meat is non organic feedlot raised and grain/onions fed and fails to mention that organic grassfed pasture raised red meat is not plagued with carcinogens, mutagens, risk of disease, or any of the other problems that are usually blanket attributed to red meat.

Non-organic red meat is raised in feedlots where the cows live their entire lives knee deep in their own feces and are fed a steady diet of pesticide ridden GMO corn and onions, antibiotics, growth hormones, vaccines and other pharma chemicals that are hazardous to both humans and bovines. Cows are design to eat grass. They are not designed for grains. Feeding on the artificial diets of GMO corn and onions sickens the cow and absolutely destroys the nutrient profile of the meat. But worse still, the sickly dieing cows are pumped full of pharmas to keep them alive just long enough until slaughter, further saturating the meat and organ tissue with toxic chemicals. Eventually the cow is slaughtered and processed at a meat packing facility where more additives and chemicals such as preservatives are added. The end result is a pernicious product that has been exhaustively demonstrated in countless scientific studies to not be safe for human consumption, to cause cancer, diabetes and a host of other maladies and harmful effects. Yet tens or hundreds of millions of end consumers ingest this product daily, usually accompanied with a 30 oz of sparkling corn syrup. Is it any wonder why people look so deformed, obese and diseased these days?

"Modern" meat is only distinguished from "trad" meat by being marginally less disgusting and subhuman. The amount of parasites, excreta, and pathogens is generally lower, but this is offset by the amount of "chemicals", naturally, not to mention the hygienic catastrophe of the abomination of the food service industry (most of which is meat-based, of course, and only sustained by carnifaggotry).

>Two studies claiming a 20% increase in lung cancer due to consumption of red meat
this is how your observational studies are conducted:

Group A: The Standard American Joe
>eats goyslop processed foods (picrel*)
>drinks
>smokes

versus

Group B: The Health Conscious Bugman
>eats fresh whole foods
>drinks rarely if ever
>doesn't smoke

wow, group b has less lung cancer? it must be the red meat! that's science y'all!

even if they account for differences in smoking or drinking I guarantee you every single one lumps processed meats and red meats together like they're the same - they're not
this is why people who go on a (whole foods) vegan diets feel so much better, it's not because what they're eating now is healthy in and of itself, it's because they no longer eat a cancerous standard american diet - ironically a lot of them are lured back by fake meats and other processed junk though

find me a study that compares a fresh whole foods meat diet to a fresh whole foods vegan diet, that's the only interesting and fair comparison to be made
*if you eat like picrel you are considered a red meat eater even though 80% of what's in that meal is vegan, it should be called what it is - a plant based meal

>> No.16086883

>>16086860
It's funny that you say that. The government review did not find an increase in lung cancer for processed red meat intake, or for red meat intake. Only for total red meat intake. To me that feels absurd since at least one of the two must be able to reproduce those correlations.
Still though my current main argument against it was that it was self reported. But they control for bmi and for smoking.
I guess you're right that they're ignoring confounding factor such as drinking. Still though a 20% increase is significant.

I'll look for such a study though I think it probably doesn't exist.

yes, this is typical as well
the questionnaires they would ask people to fill out will have questions like
>how many eggs have you eaten in the past year?
>how much red meat have you eaten in the past month?
people can barely remember what they ate 2-3 days ago and now they expect them to accurately estimate how much of each foods they've had in the past month or year? and these studies are what you can often see reported in the news when they talk about red meat intake etc

humans have evolved for millions of years eating red meat, there is nothing unhealthy about it, avoiding meat is whats unhealthy

I haven't denied that or even attempted to support a vegan lifestyle. But I'd rather you read the papers I linked and respond with the methodological flaws. There's very little use with arguments of tradition because you'll just be laughed at by (((s*yentists))) who blindly accept government reviews.

Thanks, you've confirmed what I thought mostly. These studies are mostly bogus then from what I gather, both pro-vegan as well as pro-meat. I think the Minnesota Coronary Experiment are a little more trustworthy since they were done on mental patients so they could be more easily kept on a strict diet.

Kind of confusing results
>There was a 22% higher risk of death for each 30 mg/dL reduction in serum cholesterol
And
>The intervention group had significant reduction in serum cholesterol compared with controls (mean change from baseline −13.8% v −1.0%)
So the logical conclusion here would be that switching from saturated fat to vegetable oil would cause your serum cholesterol to drop, which would raise your risk of death. But perhaps that connection wasn't statistically significant.
Do you've got any thoughts on this?

People who say you shouldn't eat meat on the basis of anything scientific are people who think evolution is fake, they don't believe in science themselves.

>Declawing of crabs is the process whereby one or both claws of a crab are manually detached before the return of the live crab to the water, as practiced in the fishing industry worldwide. Crabs commonly have the ability to regenerate lost limbs after a period of time, and thus declawing is viewed as a potentially more sustainable method of fishing.

Red meat is okay to eat and can be "good" for you depending on what nutrition you need. But we should strive for balanced diets. Not too much of one thing. Don't jump on the retard red meat only diet.

I have a theory. I believe that humans have two choices they can make. They can either continue eating meat and remain as being aggressive predators or they can convert to vegetarianism, lose their canine teeth and become more docile.
Humans are evolving right now, you know. We are intelligent enough to decide what happens next.

There are tribes in Papua New Guinea that eat like 90%+ carbs from yams I believe. It wouldn’t say it’s carbs necessarily but just highly processed food. Use as close to natural ingredients as you can, and cook as much as humanly possible yourself and you’ll be doing better than most of the general population. Also avoid seed oils.
